The Mishna in Avos (4;11) says "Rabbi Eliezer ben Yaakov says: If one does one mitzvah he acquires a defendant (a spiritual defendant) if he does one sin he acquires for himself a (spiritual) prosecutor".

Each and every action we do has a great impact in the spiritual realms. Our actions create a spiritual reality (an angel) which will become a heavenly defendant or prosecutor for or against us. Each and every action we do has profound impact and repercussions.

Our Sages say even further, that a person should consider that the entire world is in a balance and his one action, good or bad can tilt the entire scale one way or the other. Internalizing this message will help us to safeguard our actions from sin.

Shabbat Shalom,

HeathÂ
