In this week's parsha we read the story of how Rivka was engaged to Yitzchak. Eliezer, the servant of Abraham, was tasked to find a wife for Yitzchak. As he returned home with Rivka, Yitzchak was praying. Yitzchak was 37 years old at the time and presumably one of the things he was praying for was to find a suitable wife. As soon as he proceeded to pray we find that his intended shows up ready to get married.

There is a concept that G-d answers our prayers even before we begin to supplicate Him as the verse says "Before you call out, I will answer".

My wife told me a story that was related to her from an eye witness to an incident that occurred just this week at the Western Wall.

There was a woman at the Wall who was praying fervently, with great emotion, crying and beseeching G-d for help. Her prayers captivated the other woman around her. There was an American woman who was watching this and she was moved with a desire to try and help this woman in obvious need. She removed from her purse a stack of bills (hundreds of dollars) and handed it to another lady to give to the woman praying. Within moments, the American woman was gone, out of site. The woman praying was stunned and graciously accepted the gift from her unknown benefactor.

As soon as she called out to Hashem He answered her prayers.

Shabbat Shalom,

Heath
