We read this week about the courageous act of Pinchas who stood up against the sinners within the Jewish nation and prevent a calamity. The acts of Pinchas couldn't be more relevant to the situation we live in today. There are countless movements in our day and age that attack Jewish values and even Jewish existence. People are afraid to stand up and speak out against these physical and spiritual attacks for fear of being labeled politically incorrect or some other name. Pinchas though knew what was right, he knew what the Will of G-D was through the Torah and Moshe's guidance and he wasn't afraid to stand-up against the "movements" of his time. He was given reward for his courageousness, in the physical and spiritual worlds.

May we all take the strength of Pinchas and not be pressured into thinking or acting in ways which conflict the Torah. Just because the world and society thinks a certain way and ostracizes anyone who isn't like-minded isn't an excuse for us to ignore the truth.

Shabbat Shalom,

Heath
