As we begin to read the Torah from Bereishis this week, the Torah tells us that Hashem created the world and all of the vegetation but it didn't sprout yet because man was not yet created. Only once man was created was he able to "work" and able to bring forth the vegetation. Our Sages explain that although Hashem had created the vegetation it didn't sprout from the ground until man was created and capable of praying in order for the rain to come and vegetation to sprout. This lesson can be applied to our own personal "sprouting". Hashem has put into place all of the blessing and bounty that we are deserving. It is waiting only for us to come and pray to Hashem to allow it to sprout. Without our supplications these blessings will go unrealized.

Shabbat Shalom,

Heath
