In this week's Parsha we read about the sin of the golden calf which was a national tragedy for the Jewish People. Moshe Rabbenu prayed to Hashem to spare the people and forgive them. Hashem also revealed to Moshe Rabbenu the thirteen attributes of mercy. Our Sages teach us that this special prayer has the can arouse Divine Mercy in times of difficulty.

As the time passes the world as a whole, and the US and Israel specifically are beginning to grapple with the coronavirus. Indeed this is a time when we need to arouse Divine Mercy. Of course prayers and trust in Hashem are the order of the day, but it also gives us an opportunity to reassess our lives and actions. We are constantly busy, distracted and don't have time for family and the people that are close to us. As people begin to isolate themselves to various degrees it allows us to refocus on the environment and people close to us. We can close off the outside world for a little bit and refocus.

May we see Hashem's Salvation speedily.

Shabbat Shalom,

Heath
