In this week's Parsha we read about the war that was waged against Midian. This battle was to avenge for the tremendous destruction that the Midian nation caused the Jewish People by enticing them to sin with idolatry and illicit relations. The Torah records all of the spoils of war which were taken from Midian and how they were all divided. A portion of the spoils were taken and used to create vessels for the Tabernacle. How could it be that these spoils which symbolized the sins of the Jewish People could be taken and used for such a holy purpose?
This is the power of repentance. When we fix our downfalls and transcend our faults those faults can be uplifted and become the holiest vessments.
Shabbat Shalom,
Heath
