This week we entered into the Jewish month of Adar. The sages teach us that as we enter into this month we should increase our happiness. The entire world is searching for the secret to happiness as it seems to be something quite elusive for many. There are lots of types of superficial happiness and there are of course things a person can do that elevate his mood, but none of those bring a deep sense of happiness that reverberates within a person's being.

Some of the greatest teachers of Jewish Thought have revealed to us the real secret to happiness, Trust in G-d. If we observe the world, who are generally the happiest people? I would venture to say the happiest people are babies. Why? Because they have no worries. Anything that they need is provided for them effortlessly or almost effortlessly with a small cry their needs are taken care of. This is the level of Trust in G-d that we should all strive for. We need to understand that G-d will and does take care of everything that we need.

Of course Adar is a time for external happiness as well, but for us to truly increase our happiness and have it last throughout the year we should take some time this month to increase our trust in the Almighty!

Shabbat Shalom,

Heath
