In this week's parsha we read about the Mishkan, the holy Tabernacle which was constructed in the desert.

Rav Shlomo Kluger zt"l writes that in the Mishkan (and Beis Hamikdash), there were three things that the Torah tells us were "constant". The Menorah was lit "constant", the daily tamid sacrifice was brought "constantly" and the twelve show breads which were placed on the gold table were there "constantly".

What is interesting is that in regards to both the Menorah and the Tamid sacrifice is that the fulfillment of them being constant, is understood as "daily". The Tamid wasn't constantly on the altar and the Menorah wasn't (necessarily) constantly lit. Both of these services were daily but not every second of the day. In contrast the show breads were present on the table 24/7 every single moment. In fact, our Sages teach us that when the show breads were changed each week they were removed in such a way that as the old ones were removed the new breads were put in their place so there wasn't even an instant where the table was sitting without the breads upon it.

He explains that the Table and show breads represent a person's financial sustenance. People are constantly running around worried about their money or trying to make more. The showbreads being on the table 24/7 remind us that our financial sustenance is in truth all from Hashem and that he is constantly supporting us.

Shabbat Shalom,

Heath
