In this week's Parsha we read about the encampment of the Jewish People while they were in the desert. They were organized in a very specific formation when they camped and when they travelled. Each tribe had a specific flag and symbol which was associated with their position and they all encamped around the holy ark.

Our sages teach us that when the Torah was given to the Jewish People they saw the myriads of heavenly angels encamped around the Divine Presence. The Jewish People desired a similar encampment and Hashem commanded them with the order that we read about in the Parsha. What was so special though about the encampment of the angels. The angels each have their own position and job, they have absolute clarity in their purpose and there is no jealousy between them. When the Jewish People realize they too each have their specific place and mission in life, they won't feel jealousy between one another either.

Every Jew is created with a special purpose that only they can fulfill. When we spend time looking and focusing on what other people do and have, we lose sight of our own strengths and unique purpose.

Shabbat Shalom,

Heath
