R'Elimelech Biderman related a story about a very wealthy man who passed away and left an only son. The problem is that the father did not disclose to his son where all of his wealth was stored. The orphaned son knew his father left him a large sum of money but had no way of finding it. One day as he was going through his deceased father's house he realized that one of the tiles on the floor was crooked. He lifted up the tile and found the vast wealth his father had hidden. The son found vast wealth because he knew his father well and knew that his father was straight and perfect. He knew that there is no way that his father would have a crooked tile in his house. He realized that if it looks crooked it must be on purpose and there is vast wealth hidden underneath.

This story is a parable to our relationship with G-d. He is Perfect and straight, but sometimes it looks to us like He has done something crooked. In truth though this is just our limited perception if we look beyond the crooked tile we come upon in life we will discover it was purposely placed there in order that we could uncover vast wealth!

Shabbat Shalom,

HeathÂ
